So far, I'm not impressed. I'll acknowledge that this product is sufficient, but the quantity for the price is certainly not enough given the mediocre quality. The "Reinforced Boar Bristle Brush" has a solid wooden oval grip, but the bristles appear to be about 90%-95% nylon/plastic. From what I've researched, this is not optimal and can actually damage your hair, so right off the bat that's really not much use to me. The shampoo is probably the best product of this lot, and does seem to be rather gentle while also cleansing without drying out the hair too much. The conditioner/styling lotion contains alcohol which again is not optimal for hair care, but I'll acknowledge that it does not seem to detract greatly from the moisturizing elements of this lotion. The major drawback of the lotion in my opinion is the smell. It just smells like regular everyday lotion, which to my nose is rather unpleasant. I'll use these products up, but I won't be looking for more products from this brand at these prices given this experience.
I really like this product, it really leaves my beard soft after I put the conditioner on
LOVE THIS COMBINATION.
Great product, I'll keep buying over and over again.
I bought this for my boyfriend because his skin would become irritated while trying to grow out his beard and he'd shave it and we'd have to go through the whole cycle of growing it out again. He's been using it on and off for about a month and his skin is noticeably clearer and his beard feels much softer. He's also pointed out that it's easier to groom and helps him fill in any patchy spots with the brush.
The beard wash smells amazing. The beard controll will help you control your beard all day long!
His breas looks hella legit and smells good. Stays maintained. Easier to brush with this kit.
My girlfriend surprised me this weekend with this sweet kit that I couldn't wait to try. So first I pull out the brush and immediately realize that it's absolute GARBAGE. It's not a boar hair bristle brush whatsoever, 99% of the bristles are cut plastic, with tiny (and very soft) boar hairs stuck in the brush. The soft hairs are for looks, not for use. I have two other PURE boar hair brushes and they catch my hair immediately, but this cheap brush slides right over my beard and doesn't catch any hair, therefore it doesn't actually BRUSH into my beard. I can use it as a brush if I apply much more force than is necessary. I threw this POS away immediately. Now let's talk about the real stars of the show, the shampoo and the "control". First off, they smell great. Secondly, they come out looking like jelly. Which is not what you want to put into your beard. The list of ingredients on both products is absurdly long. However, the shampoo works well as a shampoo, which I would hope it would given that it's supposed to. But the shampoo really does smell good. Now, let's talk about the Beard Control. It is in *no way* a beard oil or beard balm, think of it as a very cheaply-made leave-in conditioner. Whomever at Billy Jealousy thought this goop would control your beard clearly doesn't have one. Upon my first (and only) application of Beard Control, I regretted it immediately. It left my beard dry and brittle, which is NOT what you want a product to do. I threw this garbage away. A good beard conditioner, whether it's oil, balm, butter, or leave-in, only needs about a half dozen ingredients to be super effective and to nourish your beard; somehow Billy Jealousy made a product with about 2 dozen ingredients and all it's good at is, is smelling good.I've used and reviewed many beard products but this is by far the worst product I've ever used. Thanks Billy Jealousy for ensuring I'll never buy any of your bargain basement products again.
Use it on my beard. Works well and came on time. Plus it came with an extra brush for my collection.
Smells great, the brush is a little rough for someone with a smaller beard.
